Geared Up Garage

I made this card for my brother's birthday. He is a motor mechanic by trade but now works in 4WD sales. He's always had a few cars at any given time so the Geared Up Garage suite was a must have from the new Occasions catalogue. It's such a great male set for the men in our lives.
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Cushed Curry, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White, Black foil(r) from the Holiday Catalogue.
Inks: Black Memento, Crushed Curry, Stampin' Blends.
Accessories: Big Shot, Geared Up Garage thinlits, DSP, Spanner embellishment, black silver ribbon (all from the suite),Dimentionals, the black foil circles are from the cogs and gears thinlits, it makes its own embellishments.
If you'd like to order this suite don't hesitate to contact me. You can order it online through my Stampin' Up website, don't forget to use the JANUARY HOSTESS CODE to go in the draw for free products.

Jars of Love

I got this idea off Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try.
I've used the Hardwood background stamp, Jars of Love stamp for the jar and lid. Well Written thinlits for the words.
The tools are dies I have in my stash. I made the jar like a shaker card using acetate and put some nails in it.

The Open Sea

This is the card I've made for my brother's birthday.
Ian is a lover of the water and loves his sailing.
He was asked to sail in the Sydney to Hobart this year but for various reasons it wasn't possible.
I hope he gets the opportunity again and is able to do it, what a great experience it would be.

Mark's Birthday Cards

Mark was away for work in Russia for his birthday this year :(
So we have had to delay his birthday celebrations.
On his return home, these were the handmade cards that he received.
The above card was from me :)
It was a card I made at a craft day last year.
I though it was very appropriate for Mark as he loves flying and always seems to be away OS with work lately.  The quote "Time Flies" also seemed very apt.
The next card was from Narelle.
She obviously purchased the stamp set "Dapper Dad" from the Seasonal Catalogue.
She's used the Square Lattice EF to give the card texture as well as using some
hemp twine.  Love the colours of this card.
The 3rd card was from my good friend and downline, Margaret.
Margaret has done something really interesting with this card.
She's used the "Celebrate" stamp set from this year's Sale-a-bration sets.
Punched the images out and placed them randomly on the "Newsprint" DSP.
Love this idea.
Mark was trying to work out where she go the newspaper print from as in the top left hand corner were words about "electromechanical engineers", he thought it was specially about him!
Which of course it was!!!

Celebrate - sale-a-bration stamp set

I didn't get into sale-a-bration this year with all my family trauma's that we had..
I did managed to get this stamp set though but haven't had any time to use it until now.
My BIL's birthday is this week and he is a bike rider, although I don't think he rides the old penny-farthings.
I followed a sketch from "Freshly Made Sketches" for this card.
I enjoy creating with sketches so I'm going to do this more often seeing that my crafting time is so limited these days.
I
I also used the "Clockworks" stamp set for the inside of the card.
Stamped and punched the inside of the clock and raised it on dimentionals to give a bit more detail.

Need for Speed - 21st Birthday card

I made this card for a work colleague's son's 21st.
He is a marine mechanic so Need for Speed immediately came to mind.
I kind of used the "Freshly Made Sketches" sketch from last week as the design layout.
I swiped "Pool Party" inkpad over Very Vanilla cardstock for the background.
Added a strip of Soft Suede card with a smaller strip of "Comfort Cafe" DSP.
Stamped the speed boat on Pool Party card with Midnight Muse ink.
Added the Jumbo eyelets and some baker's twine, and popped the boat on dimentionals.
Really liked how this card turned out.

All products are SU:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Softe Suede, Very Vanilla, Pool Party, "Comfort Cafe" DSP.
Inks: Midnight Muse, Pool Party.
Stamp sets: Need for Speed, Sincere Salutations (retired)
Accessories: Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Jumbo eyelets (retired),
Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzlit die (retired),  2 1/2" circle punch.

Double Swing Flip Flop Card

I was asked to make a "moving" card for a cricket coach.
I had this idea in my mind to have the cricketer running between wickets. I had a few attempts and nearly got the idea happening but I wasn't 100% happy with it, so perhaps I will work on this idea a bit more.
This swing card is "moving" and has a good effect.

Products used:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Confetti Cream, Well Worn DSP.
Inks: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.
Stamps: Sincere Salutations (cricketer & Howzat - not SU)
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Square die, Square lattice embossing folder, large wide oval punch, decorative label punch,

Need for Speed

One of the first movies I saw Tom Cruise in was "Top Gun" so this stamp set reminds me of Top Gun and Tom Cruise saying.... "I feel the need....the need for speed" in his fighter jet. The card above I CASED off Splitcoaststampers. The background is scored using a scoring blade & paper trimmer to give the effect of an embossing folder (a really neat idea, one I hadn't thought of). The clouds have been sponged using a scallop circle punch out as a masking template. The jet was watercoloured then cut out and attached with a dimentional. A little strip of cardstock with "Square Lattice" embossing folder.
SU products:
Cardstock: NQNavy, Marina Mist, Whisper White.
Inks: Black Stazon, Marina Mist, NQNavy.

Happy New Year - Brother's Birthday Card

This is the card I have made for my brother's birthday. My creativeness is MIA at the moment and I have all these new stamps sets to play with that I didn't get time to play with before Xmas. So I have CASED this card from Splitcoaststampers by Pam Kerschner.
Ian has always been a keen water sports person with sailing boats, power boats and jet skis. He lives on the Gold Coast (perfect location for the boating enthusiast). How good does the torn card stock look giving the effect of the ocean and swell. I have put a little bit of dazzling diamonds on some of the swells giving the look of the sun glistening on the water. Olivia and I are going to the Gold Coast next week for 5 days to visit Ian and family, we are so looking forward to it as we missed out on our holiday over Xmas. Bring on the sun, waves, shopping, perhaps a movie and some fun days with my girl.

All SU products used:
Card stock: Not quite Navy, Marina Mist, Whisper White.
Stamp sets: Need for Speed, Bring on the Cake, Open Sea.
Inks: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Baker's twine, glue stick, dazzling diamonds.

Male Cards

"Trendy Trees", a retirement card that Mark gave to a work colleague.

Not SU product but a card most suited to the person who received it. Andy, one of my work colleagues, drives the patient transport bus and picks up elderly patients and brings them into their medical appointments. His job is challenging some of the time but Andy really is a "top bloke".

"Lovely as a Tree" and some retired DSP. Just a nice masculine card.

"Lovely as a Tree" bleached technique. A "thank you" card for Matthew's English tutor who assisted Matthew to obtain the HSC results that he was wanting to achieve.

"Trendy Trees", retired DSP and "Well Scripted" stamp set. This was my Dad's birthday card back in November. Trendy Trees is a set I don't use that much so I thought I'd ink it up for my Dad's card.

Father's Day Cards

Here are some Father's Day cards that I made to sell in my sale box at my workplace. I was going through my "retired" stamp sets and this was one from a couple of years ago called "For Father", so I thought it was perfect to whip up a few cards with. Just love the puppy. :-)

18th Birthday Cards

Another run of 18th Birthday parties for Matt. He has just finished off assessment tasks for all his Year 12 subjects and although the HSC trials are only a couple of weeks away, he feels that a little pressure has lifted. One of his mates who left school in Year 11 is turning 18 and Jack is a bit of a surfer, so the above card seemed appropriate.

This card is for one of the girls in his group. He has a really nice group of friends and this card I thought was girly yet grown up and stylish.

50th Birthday Cards

I was asked by my work to make a 50th Birthday card for the Doctor who owns the practice. This I had trouble with, kind of lost my "mojo". The card with the jumbo eyelets was my first attempt. I wasn't really happy with it so I got this week's Inkspirations Challenge up on my laptop and decided I could do something with that. The first card in this post is what I ended up being happy with. I've used "Sense of Time", "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" and "Bring on the Cake" stamps sets and a push bike stamp I have in my stash (the doctor is a keen cyclist). The SU Colour Coach helped me with the colour combination, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Riding Hood Red. I made the inside of the card pop up with the "Sense of Time" clock. I'm now going to up load this card to the Inkspirations Challenge for this week.
