More Presto Patterns Specialty DSP

I love the "Upsy Daisy" stamp set and haven't played with it for a while. The card above I used the Shimmer Paint (from the IB&C) Using an eye dropper that I purchased from the local chemist, I placed 2 drops of ink from a reinker bottle and 3 drops of Shimmer Paint (Champagne Mist) into a little container. Then using a sponge dauber I mixed and sponged the ink and shimmer paint together and dabbed it onto the daisies of the stamp. I then did the same again with Old Olive reinker and shimmer paint and dabbed the stems. I then stamped the image on to Whisper White card stock. It has a beautiful shimmery appearance that is very hard to photograph. I sponged the edges of the white card using Old Olive. Then using a piece of the new "Presto" papers I sponged the criss cross background card with "Tempting Torquoise" ink. Next using the "Smooch Spritz" - Silver Foil I gave the criss cross background card a few spritz's of the sillver. If you don't have the "Colour Catcher" shown in the Summer Mini for $10.50 you may find a few things around your card will get "spritzed" as well. If you think you are going to do a lot of "Spritzing" then the Colour Catcher is well worth investing in.

This card is similar to one I have previously published. I was asked to make a card for one of the ladies I work with who is turning "50" this week. Out came the "Presto" papers again, "Well Scripted" and "Vintage Vogue" stamp sets. I used a Pearl Glimmer Mist over the "Presto" papers to give the card a lovely soft glimmery affect. Other SU items used, 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon - Old Olive, Eyelet border punch, scallop oval punch, Oval extra-large punch, Jewels - Basic Pearls.

First Stamp Club for 2011

This is the Notebook we covered for the first Stamp Club meeting of the year.
We used the DSP - "Blueberry Crisp" to cover the front of the notebook.
A couple of strips of cardstock, "Not Quite Navy" and "Sahara Sand" trimmed with the "Scallop Trim Border" punch. Jumbo eyelet with some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon through it. Some more ribbon on the spiral binding, 5/8" grossgrain Very Vanilla and Basic Black and 5/8" satin ribbon - Marina Mist. Using the Scallop Circle punch we punched 10 scallop circles out of the DSP popped a small brad in the centre of the circles. We then scrunched each layer up and teased them back open to make the flower rosette to pop on the front of the notebook.
An alphabet stamped initial punched with the Scallop Circle and sponged edges finished of the notebook.
A quick an easy project that makes a lovely personalised gift.

Summer Mini Catalogue night

I know I'm a bit late with showing off some of the products from the Summer Mini Catalogue, but I guess "it's better late than never"!! Things were a bit hectic prior to Christmas with my Dad being in and out of hospital 3 times. January is "holiday mode" and with a week at NSW State Age Swimming at Homebush. Now it is time to play with some new products. With the kids going back to school come along on Friday night and play!!!! Here are some samples from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

The new "Presto Patterns Specialty" DSP's are very lovely to play with. The vintage patterned papper have glossy designs that you can reveal using our Smooch Spritz or using ink and brayer or sponge. You get 12 shees of cover-weight paper. 2 each of 6 designs. They are acid and lignin free and are 12" x 12" in size.
The Builder Wheels are also new to SU. They fit into the Jumbo Wheel handle. You buy the spindle and spacers and then choose from a variety of Builder Wheel designs to create your own wheel. You can use the new uninked triple cell cartridge, that you can ink up with your reinkers, any colour you like. This all clips into the existing Jumbo Wheel handle. (photo a bit over exposed, apologies).

"Well Scripted" is one of the stamp sets in the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I am a "sucker" for beautiful curly writing, so this set was a "must have" in my eyes.

You can create beautiful, simple cards just with the creating and a few embellishments with this lovely curly script.

My Summer Mini Catalogue night is this Friday, 4th February at 7.30pm at my house.

Cost is $15.00 (cash) you will make 2 cards and have a play with the Presto Speciality Papers.

If you'd like to come along either email me at denisemaccabe@gmail.com or contact me on 0412 364685 to book your place.

A New Chocolate Wallet

This is a new Chocolate Wallet I have cased from Marelle Taylor.

It is so easy to make. You can make them using just half a sheet of 12x12 DSP and 2 Top Notes.

Just fold up one edge of the DSP about 10cm to form a pocket. Then fold it in half and half again, accordian-style. Put some adhesive to separate the individual pockets (I used SNAIL on the inner fold and Sticky Strip on the 2 outside "open" edges). I might try Sticky Strip on all next time as I didn't feel the SNAIL held very well. Then stick a Top NOte to the front and back, tie it closed with a ribbon and decorate as desired. I put the 2 Top Notes through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder and decorated with the 5 petal punch.

You can put anything you like into the pockets, gift vouchers, fancy tea bags, I used chocolates which I purchased from Aldi, called "Moser Roth" $2.49 for a pack of 5 chocolates. You only need 4 for the wallet, so you can treat yourself whilst making the wallet!!

Big Shot Class

The Big Shot class I held last Friday night was quite successful. I had a group of 5 ladies come along to learn how to use their Big Shot. We used various embossing folders on cardstock and vellum, played sponging the embossing folders or just wiping them with an ink pad. We played with the Bigz Dies "Top Note" and "Pillow Box". The Original Dies, "Circles". The Sizzlits 4-pack Dies, "Lots of Tags". Sizzlits Dies "Little Leaves". I was able to show the ladies samples of the Scallop Envelope, Fancy Favor Box and Box #2. They all went home with little samples that they can make up into cards or projects. The above are a few picys of some samples from the night.

Neverending Card - Circle Circus

This is a Never Ending Card I have made for my brother Ian's, 50th Birthday which is coming up on the 12th January.

I can't believe my brother is 50, we used to play cricket on our front lawn,

ride our bikes up and down the street we grew up in.

I would watch him sail on Parramatta River on Saturday afternoons,

at the time I used to think it was boring but now when I looked back it was great.

I liked being "Jonesy's" little sister.

Ian was the one who brought Mark home,

so I guess I have him to blame for marrying Mark!!!

Not really, it's all good.

Happy Birthday Big Brother, hope you like your card.

Materials used all Stampin! Up.

I have used Circle Circus and Well Scripted stamp sets.

card: crumb cake, cajun craze and very vanilla, Rich Regals DSP.

ink: Cajun Craze
