Mark's Birthday Cards

Mark was away for work in Russia for his birthday this year :(
So we have had to delay his birthday celebrations.
On his return home, these were the handmade cards that he received.
The above card was from me :)
It was a card I made at a craft day last year.
I though it was very appropriate for Mark as he loves flying and always seems to be away OS with work lately.  The quote "Time Flies" also seemed very apt.
The next card was from Narelle.
She obviously purchased the stamp set "Dapper Dad" from the Seasonal Catalogue.
She's used the Square Lattice EF to give the card texture as well as using some
hemp twine.  Love the colours of this card.
The 3rd card was from my good friend and downline, Margaret.
Margaret has done something really interesting with this card.
She's used the "Celebrate" stamp set from this year's Sale-a-bration sets.
Punched the images out and placed them randomly on the "Newsprint" DSP.
Love this idea.
Mark was trying to work out where she go the newspaper print from as in the top left hand corner were words about "electromechanical engineers", he thought it was specially about him!
Which of course it was!!!

Filter Paper Flowers and Kraft Gift Boxes

I had a little play with the crepe filter papers today.
I was able to recreate these beautiful flowers that I found on You tube.
I decorated a couple of Kraft Gift Boxes embossing some Natural White card stock with the beautiful Lacey Brocade EF, sponged some ink over the embossed card stock, and embellished with some ribbon.
I cut 8 layers of the filter crepe paper with the Floral Framelits.
I attached the layers together with a couple of staples and then gently scrunched each layer up.
I attached the flower to one of the SU paper doilies using a hot glue gun.
I spritzed the flower with some Isocol and Champagne Shimmer paint, just to give it a little bit of glimmer and shimmer but you can't see this in the photos.
I filled the little gift boxes with some Cadbury favourites.
A nice little gift for my Mum and a special friend for Mother's Day.
