Matt's Birthday Cards

"That's the Ticket" stamp set this card was from my sister, Narelle.

"Need for Speed" from my good friend Margaret, Matt does her lawns and hedges.
Margaret was first a student at my classes,
now a demonstrator who makes wonderful cards.

from our family friend Jane - whose blog now appears on my sidebard.
Jane is a really good scrapbooker and seeing that I lack on the scrapbooking talent I wanted to share her's with you.

This Robot card was from my brother - Ian and family.
He feels he can't compete on the cardmaking side of things
so he always tries to find a good card.

"Make a Monster" stamp set.  Matt so loves this stamp set (not)
This card was from Olivia.

Not quite sure how he got to 19!
His birthday was pretty low key this year after all our family dramas.

Matt's 19th Birthday Card - Waterfall Card

Matt has recently completed his Cert 3 and Cert 4 in Fitness training.
So I thought this little weight lifter man was very appropriate.
He is from a retired set "Under the Big Top".
I've also used "That's the Ticket" and the "ticket" wheel.
Matty has this saying "that's the ticket" eg meaning it's all good and
he often calls people, mostly his sister a "ticket" - which can be good or bad!!!!
Happy Birthday Matt, hope you have a great year ahead and achieve everything you want.
Pa would be happy with all your decisions with what you are doing.

Beautiful cards

Over the last 8 weeks I have received some beautiful cards
- most being Sympathy cards,
which were all really lovely but I feel a bit too personal to share.
However here are a couple I'd like to share with you.

The lovely Felicity made this card for me.
Funny I was thinking how nice the "This too shall Pass" stamp was,
and today I found the same stamp set "From the Heart" on my desk.
I don't remember ordering it but obviously did.
So I'm glad as I can make some cards similar for my "sale" box.

This gorgeous card came from Allira, whom I shared Convention with last year.
"Elements of Style" stamp set is one I don't own
but often admire cards made with it.
I don't own the "Honeycomb" EF either (need to rectify that situation!)
I love both these cards so much as they are so elegant and beautiful.

Cracked Class Technique

Cracked class technique class is on Friday 22nd March 7.30pm. Cost $15 (cash).

Limit of 8 to a class. Come and learn this interesting technique. We'll be making 2 cards and you'll receive technique notes so that you can reproduce this technique with other stamp sets.

Here I've used a new stamp set called "Countryside" I just had to have this set when "Loads of Love" got retired. I just love little old trucks and I think I may even like this stamp set more.

Thank you for your Thoughts and Prayers

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers over the last few weeks.

It indeed has been a very trying 6 weeks with the sudden loss of my Dad and then 2 weeks later with my Mum having a major heart attack at Gosford Hospital where CPR was performed , she received 4 broken ribs but fortunately came back to us without the need of the “crash cart”.

Mum was transferred to RNSH on the 11th February and remained there for 25 days. She had 3 angiograms = 4 stents and one vessel “chiselled”. Unfortunately she had a major complication after the 3rd angiogram with a bleed at the wound site which involved a major haematoma. 3 doctors and 5 nurses worked to try to stop the haematoma worsening by applying digital pressure this took over 4 hours, as surgery wasn’t a viable option with all the blood thinning medications in her. This was a major setback. Mum then got an infection which they treated with IV antibiotics.

She was transported back to Gosford Private this week where she will be in rehab for her to recover and regain her strength.

I’ll be glad when 2013 is over!! Only 10 months to go.
