Convention 2012 Swaps

Today I'm off to the Stampin' Up Convention in Canberra.
"Bbbrrrrhhhhh" have you seen the temperatures lately in Canberra!
Convention runs from Thursday to Saturday.
It is full of lectures and lessons, make and takes, general session talks
with the Australian, New Zealand and American SU staff.
This year, you could choose to do an extra class, which I registered for.
It is making an Advent Calendar.
On the Saturday night there is a big Banquet Dinner and Awards night.
This is my 4th convention and I'm really looking forward to it.
These are my swaps that I have made to give out.
I look forward to sharing swaps I receive and some of the happenings
that take place at convention and things I may just "have to" purchase in Momento Mall.
Gotta go - Bye!!!

Lovely as a Tree

"Lovely as a Tree" is one of my all time favourite samp sets
and I'm hoping it doesn't get retired in August.
My lovely downline - Margaret - made this card for Mark for his
birthday.  Margaret CASEd this card from our beautiful
Idea book & Catalogue, showing that our catalogue is full of inspiration and ideas for us all.
Mark loved his card.

5th Ave Floral 50th

This is a repeat of a card from a S-A-S earlier in the year.
I made this for a good customer who was celebrating a special
birthday this week.

Established Elegance

As a demonstrator you receive a monthly newsletter with business tips and ideas to help with your workshops and classes.
This month' s Impressions Newsletter used Established Elegance stampset.
This is my take on the card. I struggle with the "vintage" feel but I'm getting better at it I think. :)

Inks: Early Espresso, Soft Suede and various SU markers.
Accessories: Embossing folder - Designer Frames, Antique brad, Boho Blossum punch,
Scallop circle die no.2, Big Shot, Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon.

Mark's Birthday Card

It's Mark's Birthday today.
This is the card I made for him.
One of the benefits of being an SU demonstrator is having access to
"Stampin Connections" this is a facebook like site where demonstrators can
share their thoughts and ideas.
This is a CASE from Janelle Van der Veer.
Thanks for the great idea using "Need for Speed."
Mark was going to be in Russia on his birthday but his trip has been postponed for
a few weeks which meant he was able to see our Olivia dance at her first Sydney Eisteddfod.

All SU Products used.

Cardstock: Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White.
Accessories: Regals DSP, Night of Navy 1/4" grossgrain ribbon,

Team training

I attended a team training night last night.
It's always good to get together with fellow demonstrators and
learn about the latest promotions, share ideas and play with some products.

This is the card we made at training night.  Just love it.
Thanks Linda.

Wedding Anniversary

My Hubby and I celebrated our 29th!!! (OMG) Wedding Anniversary earlier this month.
This is a "Shaker" card I gave Mark.
I made this card long before my SU days,
therefore, no SU product used here!
I haven't made a shaker card for ages, must give another one a try.

Field Flowers

I have continued to play with my new stamp set "Field Flowers".
I think I will get a lot of use out of this set.
It is just stunning in any colour.
Need to try a few more layouts though.

The first card I've used:
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Basic Black.
Inks: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Rose Red.
Stamp sets: Field Flowers, En Francois.
Accessories: 1" and 1 3/4" circle punches, Regal Rose Seam Binding ribbon.

The second card I've used:
Cardstock: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Regals DSP.
Inks: Old Olive, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie.
Stamp set: Field Flowers.
Accessories: Decorative lable punch, pearls.
I've also stamped one of the flowers again and cut it out and layered it on top,
this gives the card real depth and dimension.

Field Flowers - Double Dutch Fold

Well I'm on a roll with my Double Dutch Fold cards.
I promise this will be the last one for the moment!!!
I received my FREE stamp set for my sales during Sale-a-bration this year.
I chose Field Flowers, so just had to ink it up and play.
This set is a 2 Step staming set.  I've always avoided them in the past.
Not now, with the clear stamps, they are so easy to use.
For precision stamping if you're really fussy you can still use the stamp-a-ma-jig.

All SU products:
Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, retired DSP.
Stamp Sets: Field Flowers, Fine Flourish.
Inks: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie.
Accessories: Big Shot, Framelits, Dotty EF,
Decorative Label, Scallop Oval, Large Oval punches, sponges.

Double Dutch Fold Cards

I made this Double Dutch Fold card for a lady I work with.
Angela loves her chickens, not sure how many she has but she is really into them.
She talks about all the different breeds and the beautiful colours some of them have.
I was going through my DSP trying to find something suitable to go with the card I had in mind.
Beau Chateau DSP has a sheet with chicken wire on one side and these chickens/roosters (note quite sure) on the other side.   So it was more than perfect for the card at hand.

All products Stampin' Up:
Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla.
Inks: Soft Suede.
Stamps: It's Your Day, (Well Scripted and Simple Delights (retired))
Accessories: Framelits, Decorative label, scallop oval, large oval punches. Pearls

Paris in Spring time

There is a touch of Paris in my house at the moment.
My picture on my household calendar for May is of the Eiffel Tower.
My new winter PJ's have Eiffel Towers all over the pants!
I made this card as I was dreaming of having a lovely coffee on the sidewalk of Paris.
How good would that be?

My sister and hubby are currently traveling around France and Belgium.
They have been to France a few times now and they enjoy the countryside,
the dining, the wines.
They are currently in Paris.
She has set up a travel blog and I am following her trip.

Dinner at Musee D'orsay.  How amazing is this place, and the dessert OMG.
Olivia just loves Masterchef and food prepartion and presentation,
so she was very impressed with the dessert,
mind you Matt told her "Liv, I can do that with the tomato sauce"!!!
I guess that brings you back down to earth,
with the washing and ironing and day to day chores that continue in my life!!
Oh well, I'll continue to dream. :)

Baby Double Dutch Fold Card

If you haven't already figured it out, I love "foldy" cards.
I'm always keen to try a new one when I find it.
This one is for my friends Gemma and Tony who welcomed their
little baby boy into the world last week.
Congratulations on the safe arrival of little Lawson.

Stampin' Up Products used:
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red.
Ink: Chocolate Chip.
