Bygone Years - Established Elegance

These cards have been made using the Faux Mother of Pearl technique.

The above card I made for Mark's Dad.
I've used the Established Elegance stamp set and another vintage set I had in my stash.
The Faux Mother of Pearl has not photographed as well in this one.

Another bygone era card.
The Vintage look isn't my usual style but I think I'm happy with these cards.

All SU products unless stated.
Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Whisper White.
Inks: Early Espresso.
Stamp Sets: Established Elegance, Vintage set in my stash.
Accessories: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch,
Antique brads, vintage brads, Crumb Cake Seam binding ribbon,
Square Lattice EF, Houndstooth EF, Big Shot.

Artistic Etchings - Published in CSP Magazine

I got a lovely surprise when I received my CSP Magazine in the mail last week.
One of my cards had been published in the "Readers Gallery" section.
I sent the card in to the magazine so long ago I had forgoten about it.

I used all SU products.
Stamp sets: Artistic Etchings, Oval All.
Cardstock: River Rock, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red
and Presto DSP (from a Mini Catalogue last year).

Accessories: Large Oval punch, Antique Brads.

Brother-n-law's Birthday Card

It's my BIL's birthday next week and this is the card I made for him. You can't beat "Lovely as a Tree" for male cards. The old oak tree has been coloured using SU markers. I've done a bit of layering using Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke cardstock and some retired DSP.
Just have to apologise to BIL as I didn't get it in the post to him. He and my sister fly to Paris on Saturday for 6 weeks of touring around France.

Queen Street Mall, Brisbane

Livy and her shoe shopping!!!

Heels seem to be the flavour of the month -
is this because she is on her toes so much of the time?

Aaahhh some sensible joggers!!! or not.

Now these are some heels that could do some damage!

She came away with a new pair of thongs - Havaianas from City Beach :)
A ride on a ferry and also the City Cat.

The Lighthouse, Cleveland Park, QLD

A bit of down time in between racing. Lunch at The Lighthouse, Cleveland Park, Qld.

A monumental moment - for some!

Tackling your little sister is always a good game for some!!!

OMG, how old are they??? Who can swing higher?

Cheesey moments.

Brisbane with my girl

Southbank, Brisbane. A lovely day with Olivia. Walking along the bank of the Brisbane River where it would've been under water in January 2011 with the floods.

Lunch at Southbank. Nachos to share. We didn't think we would be able to eat it all but we seemed to manage and then kept walking to walk it off.

The Wheel of Brisbane.
The big ferris wheel beside the Brisbane River in The Parklands, South Bank.
60 metres high with a 360 degree panoramic view of Brisbane.

Oh yes, what we are here for...... Matt swimming at Age Nationals at Chandler, Brisbane.
Here he is ready for his 200m free swim this morning (bottom of screen, lane 9). He has been battling the worst head cold I think he has ever had. He hates swimming in "gutter" lanes and he has drawn gutter lanes in his 3 individual events. I tell him, "water is water, doesn't matter what lane it's in"! Probably not what he wants to hear! Anyway he swam a pb this morning in 200 free, another pb last night in the 18U 4x100 free relay, 100m back on Tues was ok considering how unwell he was feeling.

200 back and 4x100 medley relay to go.

Framelits from the new Autumn/Winter Mini

The Framelits in the new Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue were my first purchase.
I kind of CASEd this card from Alisa Tilsner. I've used different stamp sets and DSP.
I'm not sure I like it as it's not my normal style but Olivia tells me that it is a stunning card!

All SU products:

Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Whisper White.
Stamps: Creative Elements, Sincere Salutations.
Inks: Riding Hood Red, Marina Mist, Old Olive.
Accessories: Big Shot, Framelits, pearls, Champagne Shimmer Paint.

Thank you Card

Just wanted to share this lovely card one of my stamp club ladies made for me. We have been meeting for stamp club for 2 1/2 years and had lots of fun along the way.
I have put my stamp club committments on hold for the time being while I try to juggle work, interstate travel with a swimmer, a heavily commited dancer girl and a hubby who travels OS a lot.

I needed to make a sympathy card for a colleague at work. I always find sympathy cards a bit challenging. I have CASEd this card from Felicity Hawkins. Cardstock: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, SAB designer series paper.
Inks: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade.
Stamp sets: Creative Elements, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Accessories: Big Shot, non SU embossing folder, Vintage Lace ribbon, word window punch.
