Stamp Club Card - Double Swing Flip Flop Card

I made one of these cards a few weeks ago. One of my stamp club ladies requested we make it at our next Stamp Club. I've used "The Open Sea" stamp set which is in the Summer Mini Catalogue. If you like this stamp set you only have to the 31st March to order it. Email me at denisemaccabe@gmail.com if you'd like to place an order.

18th Birthday Pop Up Card

This impressive card was made by my sister for Matt's 18th Birthday. I have no idea how she had the patience to make this Pop-Up card but I do believe the final card was her 3rd attempt. I'm sure there was lots of "strong" language happening with the first 2 attempts!!!.

This card certainly touches on the "sporting" side of Matt. Covers nearly every sport except for swimming!!! Perhaps Narelle needs to find a swimming stamp to add to her repertoire!
Very impressive and lovely card, thanks Relle.

Adelaide Open Nationals - London Calling!!!

In between racing, we had a chance to chill. Lunch at Glenelg and a walk out along the pier.

Matty Welsh chatting to some young fans. He was always one of my favourites.

"Selfies" with my boy! At Port Adelaide.

Matt swam his 200m backstroke today. He swam another pb and took .70 seconds of his time, doing a 2.11.87, he came 4th in his heat and improved his ranking from 51 to 41 in Australia.
He was happy with that. We have had a great 5 days in Adelaide but looking forward to heading home.

Adelaide Open Nationals - London Calling

For those not on Facebook (with me) here are a few pics of our trip to Adelaide so far.
Matt swam his 100m backstroke event yesterday. He won his heat and swam a 1 second Pb with a time of 1.00.55. He improved his ranking from 76 to 56 in Australia. He was very happy with his swim as indicated by the huge smile from pool deck. He is in his element at these kinds of meets, soaking up the atmosphere and chatting with the "top notch" swimmers. He swims his next event on Monday, the 200m backstroke.

Matt's other sporting passion is cricket. He gave his cricket up to pursue his swimming. He was instantly attracted to the memorabilia of Sir Don at Adelaide airport.

Whilst in Adelaide Matt had to do an online test for Uni. Thank goodness our accommodation had free wi-fi. He was able to complete the 30 minute test via the internet straight to the Uni HUB site. The wonders of technology!!!

Australian Open Nationals/Olympic Swim Trials

Who says "Dreams" can't come true. Above is a little 6 year old boy who went to finals at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He watched Michael Klim, Ian Thorpe, Geof Heugill and many others swim that night. He screamed in his squeaky high pitched voice for the Men's 4x200m relay team, who won GOLD. He told me that night, "that one day he was going to swim in this pool where the Olympians swim."

Some 12 years later at the same venue, SOPAC, where he has swum in the same pool many, many, many times, he qualified for the Olympic trials in Adelaide. On Thursday we head to Adelaide for Matt to swim "with the Olympians". He is realistic and knows he won't make the Olympic team, you have to be in the top 8 to make the final and then they take the top 2 and the top 2 have to get a qualifying time to make the Olympic team.

All the 4.30am starts for training, 8 to 9 sessions a week, swimming up to 7k's a session, a couple of gym sessions a week. It is a long hard road but Matt will be there pursuing his dreams.

18th Birthday Card

Matthew turns 18 on March 25th. I can't believe our boy is 18!
I wanted to make a special card for him.
This Tri-fold card I enlarged from the standard measurements so that it is a bit bigger than normal.
I do feel a little pressure when making cards for the family, I always want them special and perfect. I'm not sure if I always achieve it but I am happy with this card.
Happy 18th Birthday Matt. Hope you have a fantastic day.
Love you heaps.

All SU products used:

A Happy Card

A beautiful "thank you" card from my girl.
One day when I was having a "mummy meltdown", that's what the kids call it!
Olivia made this card for me to thank me for everything I do for her and her brother.
The words inside are just beautiful and I feel very blessed to have such a gorgeous daughter.
Thank you so much Livy. xxxx :)

Stamping with Friends

In January I got together with some friends and we had a stamping day. We do this once a month but unfortunately I'm not always able to go due to work committments or kid's activities. On this occasion I was free and I had a lovely day with friends. These are 2 of the cards that we made. The first card is called a "stamp-around-the-page" stamping technique. It was a little bit tricky but the end result is very nice. The second card is a "Double pocket card". This one goes with my "foldy" card theme I seem to be obsessed with at the moment. Thanks Julie for a lovely day, I hope to be able to come along again soon when all the swim meets have been swum and life returns to a little bit of normality!!!!

Wedding Tri-fold Card

I think you will see that I have a bit of a theme happening here with "foldy" cards.
This is a wedding card I made for a colleague at work.

Joy Fold Card

I was asked to make a card for a baby's christening.

Fancy Swing Fold Card

Here is another Fancy swing fold card. I've used products from the SAB brochure to create this card. Not my usual colour combo and I'm not sure if I like the card but it still had the WOW factor working for it. My work colleague liked it for her friend.
