"Hope & Strength" is a lovely stamp set in the Autumn Mini Catalogue.Set of 4 - Price is $28.95 (C) or $35.95 (W). BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

Autumn Mini Catalogue - Sail Away

Another a la carte single stamp - "Sail Away" for $14.95. The above card I have stamped with versa mark and black ink then clear embossed. Then with an aquapainter filled with household bleach I have painted the sails. The bleach removed the colour from the card stock.

This "Sail Away" was stamped with Staz On ink on Vellum. Another great stamp for those difficult male cards.

Autumn Mini Catalogue 2011 - Motorcycle

Mark owned motorbikes when we first met - Ducati 900. Many a ride up the old Pacific Hwy to Avoca - great road for a bike. So this a la carte stamp just had come in to my stash.

above CASEd from Belinda Neil. above CASEd from Paula Sievers. above CASEd from Linda Geater.

Inspiration was seriously lacking this week so I have CASEd a few cards from the Stampin' Up demonstrator forum. I have used one of the new a la carte stamps - "Motorcycle".

The a la carte range are single wood stamps. The "Motorcycle" costs $13.95 and is a great stamp for those ever so hard "male" cards.

Matt's birthday - "P" day

The picy says it all, Matty got his 'P's on Monday at Woy Woy RTA. This was the best present he got. He was very happy and relieved and not real impressed with his Mum taking his photo!

Birthday cake a few days after his birthday as nothing mattered until he got his 'P's Matty bought himself this hat from his work - BCF and gave Livy one he already owned. Not quite sure what the fascination is with these Kosac looking hats. He enjoyed his 17th birthday very much. Oh and loved his card and told me that I had used the monster that he liked!!!

Matt's 17th Birthday Card

This is Matt's birthday card. His birthday is on Friday - Happy Birthday Matty Boy!

I made him a "Neverending" card.

(this is a class I am running on the 8th April if you'd like to learn how to make one just email to book your place).

Matt isn't too keen on the "Make a Monster" stamp set, and commented on some of my previous cards using this set, saying "they weren't up to my usual standard", he had been talking me up to some of his friends and decided to show them some of my cards that were on my card stand on the dining room table and he came across the "Make a Monster" set of 3. I can't tell you what he said about them because it wasn't terribly complimentary!!!! He did tell his friends that normally my cards are really good and he didn't know what these ones were all about.

Anyway I came up with this Neverending card using the "Extreme Surfer" and "Well Scripted" opening up to "Lots of Bots" which I borrowed from my sister, and the final opening just had to have a "Make a Monster" for him. I am loving the Medium Sizzlit Dies - Junior Alphabet - I can see I will be using these alot, just love the look of them on a specific card.

I've used all SU products (some retired DSP & Simply Scrappin Kit).

Stamp sets: Extreme Surfer, Well Scripted, Lots of Bots, Make a Monster.

Card stock: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White.

Inks: Basic Black, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist, Versa mark.

Tools: Big Shot, Medium Sizzlits Dies - Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, heat gun.

Shimmer Paints

I have been having fun with my "Shimmer Paints" and "Presto Papers".

With this card, I sponged the presto papers with "Cherry Cobbler" ink.

I then stamped the eiffel tower from "Artistic Etchings" with versamark in and basic black ink and clear embossed the image and then distressed and sponged the edges in black ink.

I added some 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and an "Antique Brad", just love these brads.

Layered the Eiffel tower using dimentionals.

Using the "Oval All" stamp set I stamped a greeting and punched it out with the large oval punch.

Before placing on to A5 "River Rock" card I spritzed some shimmer paint to the card front.

This card I pulled out from my basket of "I'll finish later" bits and pieces.
Didn't come up to bad considering I used bits and pieces.
Once again I spritzed using the Shimmer Paints.
Can't get enough of the shimmery thing happening!!!

18th Birthday Cards

Matty has started his run of 18th birthday parties.

Even though he is turning 17 this coming Friday, most of his friends are turning 18.

This was a card I revamped from my stash for him to give.

Another card I revamped from my stash.

I'm loving the "Shimmer Paint" mixed with Isocol in a mini mister spray bottle.

Both these cards have been "shimmered"!

Just love it, I'm "shimmering" just about everything in my study.

Embossed cards

These 2 cards were what we made at Stamp Club last Friday night.

"Friends 24/7" used the Emboss Resist technique.

Stamp in versamark, clear emboss image on white card stock.

Sponge or brayer a colour over the top.

My new background stamp "En Francois" is just gorgeous, I can see myself using this one a lot.

The "Snow Swirled" card was made using simple embossing technique.

Versamark the image and silver embossing powder.

More Cards using Pastels

Another couple of cards using versamark and pastels.

How effective is the medallion stamp in this card.

Just love the 3 different colours and cuting it out gives it a whole new dimension.

Olivia gave this card to me last weekend when we got to the Craft Expo at Rosehill Racecourse.

Isn't it just gorgeous!

Olivia also made this card using Lovely as a Tree.

She has even shaded the background which gives an added effect.

Upsy Daisy - Emboss Resist

My Stamp Club ladies meet this week and we are doing some "Embossing" techniques.

This card I was just playing with and when finished I really love it.

I've used Soft Suede card stock, embossed some vellum with the Square Lattice folder

(from the Summer Mini) I have cut some 1 1/4" striped grosgrain "Early Espresso" ribbon in half and secured a "Vintage Brad" to it.

I've stamped "Upsy Daisy" in versa mark ink and clear embossed it.

Then I've inked up my brayer and rolled over and over the stamped image.

I then layed Upsy Daisy on to "Early Espresso" card and mounted it on top of the lattice vellum.

Quite a stunning card, if I do say so myself!

Always Wedding Card

I was asked by a lady I work with if I could make a couple of wedding cards for her.

This one I already had made up.

It's a Tri Fold card.

I have used old DSP Bella Bleu (loved that paper),

"Always", "Well Scripted" and "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp sets.

The heart has been stamped with versa mark, heat and stick powder applied

then I've added Dazzling Diamonds. It is all sparkly and looks really pretty.

I now have to come up with another wedding card as the second card is for her mother to give, so I can't do 2 the same!!!!

Inspiration from things you don't expect

My sister, Narelle, gave me this mug for Christmas.
As I was having a coffee at my desk this week and making cards
(as I do in amongst all the other running around that I do!)
I liked the colours of the mug - a bit of Baja Breeze and Whisper White.
I liked the bird and branches on the mug - Friends 24/7.
So it inspired me to make this card.
I used the "Emboss Resist" technique.
On White cardstock I stamped in Versa mark then clear embossed the images.
I then inked up my brayer in Baja Breeze and rolled the inked brayer over and over the white card stock. The embossed images then just pop off the page.

This card I CASEd from Marelle Taylor. She does such beautiful work, I try to vary the cards when I case them but this one was just so beautiful I went for a straight copy.
I used the same technique - Emboss Resist.
I stamped a background on Very Vanilla cardstock using Very Vintage wheel and Vintage Vogue stamps using Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy inks.
Next I embossed the Medallion stamp on top in clear embossing powder.
Once again I inked up my brayer and brayered over it in Baja Breeze ink.
It is a great effect and quite stunning.
"Teeny Tiny Sentiments", the Word Window punch, Large Oval punch and Designer Label Punch, Basic Pearls completes the card with a sentiment.

"Loads of Love" to Melissa on her new Adventure
