Scrapbooking Pages

Here are a couple of pages I have done recently.

My daughter's page I used the "Simply Scrappin'" kit "Love Sparkles". Simply Scrappin' kits are great for beginner scrappers or if you just want to get some layouts done quickly and easily. The kits come with 8 textured 12x12 cardstock in 4 colours. 6 sheets of D/S papers in 2 designs. 6 self-adhesive die cuts 2 each of 3 designs. My daughter, Olivia, was going to her Year 6 Farewell dinner she looked "gorgeous" and very grown up.

My son's page I used D/S paper "Urban Garden", the photo corner punch and some Hodgepodge Hardware. The accessories used came together giving the layout a more boyish or should I say "Manly" look. My son, Matt, was going off to his Year 10 Formal. A photo with his mates, all in suits, is probably a rare photo, so it just had to be taken. He and his mates also looked, perhaps not gorgeous but "handsome" and very grown up too.

Linen Journals

Another cased idea, this time from Alex Hughes (thanks Alex). These journals can be bought from a new stationery shop at Erina Fair called "Typo", owned by the "Cotton On" group. Apparently there are a few stores in Sydney but this is the first on the Central Coast.
These journals are A5 size they cost $3.50 each, they are covered in a lovely linen fabric. I stamped "Circle Circus" and "Friends 24/7" images on them and tied some ribbon. Voila a lovely gift. What a fabulous idea, thanks Alex.

Butterfly Prints

"Butterfly Prints" is a stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalogue with a matching "butterfly punch". The punch also matches "Flight of the Butterfly" in the Idea Book & Catalogue. I cased this card from Melissa Garland (thanks Melissa). I used blues as I am a "blue" person. Also used in this card is "Baroque Motif" stamp set, another favourite. Hope you like the card.

6 x 6 scrapbook page

This was a 6x6 scrapbook page we made at the Training Day. It was great to use the Crimper (which I have and haven't used alot). I also got to play with a "Crop-a-dile" a tool that I haven't purchased yet. It is used to set brads, large and small and you can also emboss with it. Of course now the "Crop-a-dile" is on my wish list. We were shown how to layer the 6x6 page onto a 12x12 page, so stay tuned as I will do this in the next couple of days and put it on my blog. Stampin' Up sell 6x6 and 12x12 linen scrapbooking albums. How cute is the baby in this layout! This was me at 7 months at my grandparents house at Ettalong (a very, very long time ago). Black and white photos are really nice to scrap.

Stamper's Challenge

I went along to a Stampin' Up training day yesterday and had a great time mingling with other demonstrators. The Stampin' Up days are always fun I wasn't able to go to the Regional training day in Sydney last November as it was my daughter's dance concert and my Dad's 80th birthday, both very special events, so I made sure I could attend yesterday.
They did a Stamper's challenge. Gave us all a layout design and we had to make a card based on that design. I often see Challenges on people's blogs or in magazines and I have never attempted one. Now I think I will give it a go. All the cards were beautiful and with the different D/S papers and stamp sets that people had brought along they all looked so different. This was my card that I made. Hope you like it. We got to use the "Circle Scissor Plus" which is in the Summer Mini catalogue. This is a great tool for cutting circles of all sizes and is very easy to use compared to some circle cutters I have used. So now the "Circle Scissor Plus" is on my wish list.

Ribbon Share

Every now and then I run Ribbon Shares. I always like to have a selection of ribbons on hand and this way you don't have to order a whole spool of ribbon. It is also a good way to find out if you really like a colour of ribbon and then you might like to order a spool. For this swap I need 6 people (including myself) for 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. You get 1.5m of Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red. Cost is $15.94 per person, only $1 more than a spool but you get all 6 colours to try. If you are interested Email me to join in a Ribbon Share.
