Gingerbread House

I went to the Lakes Church at Berkeley Vale last Friday night and had a great night with 300 other ladies making a Gingerbread House. It was so much fun building the house and then decorating it. I hope it stands the test of time (or the heat that we are having) and can be a beautiful centre piece on my table on Christmas Day. Thanks Julie for inviting me.

My Dad's 80th Birthday Card

This is the card I have made for my Dad's 80th Birthday. I have used the "Blooms Away" stamp set and the "Weathered" background stamp. I coloured the banksia with Stampin' Up markers and stamped the image on to watercolour paper. I then stamped the "weathered" background stamp on the 3 different pieces of cardstock, attached 3 black brads and layered them onto black A5 card. I layered the banksia image on to black card and mounted it on to the card with stampin' dimentionals. I used the word window punch for "happy birthday" and attached it to large oval punched cardstock. I inked the number 80 with chocolate chip ink. Happy Birthday Pa I hope you have a great day.

Friends 24-7

This card I have made for a great friend for her birthday. We have been friends for 10 years, we have worked together and been there for each other. My friend Kate is one of the bravest people I know. She had bone cancer when she was 16 and had her left leg amputated. She got on with her life, got married, has 2 great children and only last year she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced this new battle with such bravery and courage and has come out the other side, she has finished her treatment and is looking towards the future once again. To my wonderful, brave friend Kate, I hope you like your birthday card.

12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 7

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Whisper White A5 card

Inks: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Stampin' Up Markers- Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Creamy Caramel.S
Stamp sets: Lovely as a Tree and Best Yet (Hostess set)
Accessories: Sponges
Notes: This is a great no layer card. I've used the "Reverse Masking" technique where you cut out a frame from scrap paper and work within that area instead of around it as you would with normal masking. Ink the tree stamp with "Old Olive" and stamp the image within the masking frame 3 times at varying levels without reinking the stamp. Still working with the masking frame, use a sponge to sponge the ground area with "Creamy Caramel" and the sky area with "Brocade Blue", carefully remove the mask. Colour your tree stamp with your marker pens using "Chocolate Chip" for the tree trunk and then "Always Artichoke" for the branches, huff with your breath on the stamp to moisten it and stamp the tree image to one side of the masked area (making this tree image appear to be in the foreground). Stamp your Christmas greeting in "Chocolate Chip" ink.

A Moving Experience

This card I made for my parents who have just moved into a Retirement Village this weekend. It has been a huge weekend (and 8 weeks leading up to the move).
I used the Jumbo "Neighbourhood" wheel, "Loads of Love" and "Loads of Love Accessories" stamp sets. I coloured in the "Neighbourhood" and the little truck and furniture with blender pens and ink pads and the Stampin' Pastels. I think it is a cute little card.

Sympathy Cards

I had the need to make a sympathy card recently. I had never made a sympathy card before. These were the 2 cards that I made. A lovely old lady that I met through working at the Cardiologist's passed away. She was a beautiful lady who was so interested in my family, particularly Olivia with her ballet. In her day, Mrs Spackman used to play the piano for ballet exams, recitals and performances. It is always sad when someone passes on, even if they are elderly and in poor health. I chose to send the "Peace" card.
